“Agreed.” I kiss her nose. “You look stunning.”

Opening the door, she thanks me. “I know you wanted to ride here tonight, but your dress wouldn’t have coped.”

“I guess you’re right, but I could have tried.” She laughs and we make our way up to the front area of the fanciest and well-known restaurant—The Palace. The paparazzi, socialites, and anyone who mattered in the underground world frequented here. Walking with my arm over her shoulder, and her arm around my waist we enter the large room and walk toward our people.

Her head swivels as she takes in the eyes staring at us. “You truly know how to make everyone lust after you. You’re too fucking sexy to take out, Caden.” I laugh a full belly laugh. She’s so wrong.

“Angel, they aren’t looking at me.” I stop and face her. “They are looking at the woman who has captured me. Wondering if it’s your tits, your ass, and your gorgeous legs that have done the impossible. The women want to be you and every man in the fucking place wants to stick their cock in you.” I run my tongue over her red stained lips. “The heat from you radiates to everyone, but you are mine, Lace.”

“And that’s what makes me so seductive. Knowing you belong to me…” We kiss again, frantically and with heated fury, with eyes trying to focus on anything but us now. Our breath is ragged, and we need to stop. My girl would have me on the floor begging for cock if I would let her, but no one sees what’s mine. “And I guess, at a stretch, how you use your vicious hands and body, your tongue and your knot tying skills.” Her laugh bellows through the eatery. She’s such a naughty unicorn.

“You’re shitting me?” Eyes wide as saucers, she stops. Excitement pulses through her and her beauty shines across the entire restaurant. “What the hell is going on?”

“I wanted to do something special for everyone after the amazing success of my Gala dress line, so I thought I’d include all of my friends, including my new ones.” Crystal strolls over and hugs us.

I asked her to include the Alpha Devils and our families. Slate had agreed that it was time people knew who they were fully messing with if they decided to lay a hand on any one of our family members. The Alpha Devils MC would add an extra layer to our already feared natures.

  “Go…”

She leaves my side and runs to greet and hug her father, brothers, and the other few club members who came to join in. My heart brightens a touch watching her. I’d wanted to invite my mother, but decided against it. She was grieving in her own way the death of my father. We both were. Only I was grieving because I had been denied the opportunity to take his life. Lace and I had discussed it. She thought it was better this way, but I disagreed for the moment. Time would tell if I changed my mind.

Slate and Emerald, Tanner and Ocean have caught up with everyone and are drinking, sitting at the table. I nod and join my sexy girl, handshaking and bro-hugging the men. Mav’s arm is out of the plaster, Kai and Raff both look like the tough sons-of-bitches that they are. We had all healed and trust had been earned. On both sides.

“You happy?” I lick her ear.

“Couldn’t be any happier.” Her head looks around at all who has joined us.

“We’ll have to see about that.” Kissing her, I walk toward our seat.

“No fucking way…”Lace darts from me and goes to Crystal and another girl. “Beth…” She wraps her in a hug and steps back. “I’m so glad you came too. Crystal’s line was so fantastic, we will have to get you a private showing.”

“I’m sure that can be arranged if you’re staying for a while.” Crystal sips her bubbly.

“When Mav said we were visiting his sister, I couldn’t refuse. I miss you girls.” She drinks down her wine and pulls me in for another hug.

“I need a drink…” Lace sits down next to me and a waiter places a glass of Moet in front of her. I am given a glass of Benedictine. I take a large mouthful and swallow. The warmth spreads through me reminding me of how much my life had changed in such a short amount of time. Only weeks ago I would take a drink of alcohol and the ice inside me would remain unmelted. Today, warmth spreads so fucking easily. My heart will always be dark, I will always be a ruthless killer, but Lace understands me. There’s nothing else that matters.

Everyone takes their seats and Crystal launches into a speech, thanking everyone for coming. I gulp down more alcohol and scrape back my chair when I stand. I’d tried to wait but…

“Lace…” I cut Crystal off with my raw voice. I look only at my angel. “I’ve taken many paths in my life that most people wouldn’t. I’d chosen them, reveled in them, built and shaped them and conquered them. I wasn’t prepared when your striking mauve hair, luscious curvy body, sassy mouth, sharp knife, and fucking Harley crossed my carefully constructed path. You devoured me, consume me, and match me.”

No sound registers only the blood beating in my ears. Her clear blue eyes are glassy. I move down onto one knee and take the small black and red box from my pocket.

“My hell as I knew it shattered the day I laid eyes on you. My soul no longer belongs to the Devil it belongs to you. My own Alpha Devil Princess. My life exists in your hands, Lace.” I open the box and take out the solitaire black diamond ring surrounded by rubies and white diamonds that I personally designed. I stop breathing. “Angel…Lace Baxter. Will you allow me to join your path so soon? Your highway to Hell if that is where we end up? I love you, Lace. Will you marry me?”

Tears stream down her face and she sniffles. I gasp in a breath and try to gain oxygen. I should be sweating, shaking or feeling ill, but a sense of calmness overruns me. We both want this…I think…”Lace?”

A smile breaks across her face. “Yes!” She throws herself at me and I catch her. I will always catch her. Her lips latch onto mine and she pours her love into my body. Cheers erupt from around the table and by the sound of it, the entire restaurant.

“Yes, I want you with me forever. There’s no getting rid of me. I love you.”

Inappropriately, I squeeze her ass and try to devour her mouth completely. “I told you, you could be happier.” She squeals as I bite her lip, then laughs, breaking through all the well wishes. Pushing back, she asks, “Can I have my ring?”

“Anything for you Angel, you know that.” Placing her feet on the ground, I slide the ring on.

“Wow. It’s so heavy. Look at that stone? Is it a black diamond?” She doesn’t take her eyes from it.

“The five-carat black diamond reminded me of us. I designed it so it was surrounded by the rubies and diamonds. Rubies being our fire, and the brilliant cut diamonds the light you shine into our blazing inferno.”

  “It’s beautiful.”

“It is like you.” I kiss each of her knuckles. “Unique, special, magical, and rare.”

‘It sounds like how we fuck…” Her voice reverberates across the entire restaurant. I almost choke on my laugh. I don’t disagree.

“It also reminds me of our love.”

  Damn straight it does.

  The End.

It is such a humbling experience being a writer. I could never thank each reader enough for taking the time to read my words. But here it goes……THANK YOU!

I truly hope you enjoyed My Devil and Lace and Caden’s journey. If you did, please think about leaving a short review from where you purchased the book. As an Indie Author, I rely on word of mouth. Thank you for helping me spread my words to more readers.

Caden and Lace’s story would have taken a different journey if it wasn’t for my beautiful Beta Readers. A shout out to CeeJay, Dee, Julie and Allyson for sharing their thoughts about Caden and Lace, making them so much more. Thank you and hugs.

Stacey from Champagne Book Designs always astounds me with her creative flair and ability to work her magic with precision. Once again, Stacey has outdone herself with this cover design and interior format and I am so very grateful for your wisdom and expertise in what you do for me.

My Devil is polished and flows so awesomely because of Ellie McLove from My Brother’s Editor. Thank you for your words, time and experience. As a new author, it is so comforting to know, there are amazing people out there who will point me in the right direction. You are one of them. Thank you and I owe you a cocktail or two if we ever meet up in person.

I would also like to give a HUGE shoutout to the romance writer community on FaceBook. You are the most amazing, accepting and comforting bunch of people who inspire me every day. How you lift up other writers, helping us all to live our dreams, makes me feel so blessed to be a part of it.

Warm hugs to you all xxx
